Our Junior Rock Hound Meetings are held at 12:45 before the General Meeting... See the calendar for the next meeting and map!

Because there have been so many inquiries lately for junior activities it has been decided that this would be a good time to begin a junior rockhound group. Each meeting will have a short informative session on rocks, minerals and earth science as well as a hands on activity for the children designed to help them earn badges and patches that are similar to the boy and girl scouts programs. The meetings will be hosted by several club members on a variety of subjects. Ginger Irwin has volunteered to teach sand painting, Anna Christiansen will teach how to make a wire wrapped ring and we hope to have a session on meteorites also. Meetings will be open to children from first grade through age 18. Additional information will be in the next Ghost Sheet. Please be sure to let your family and friends know about the Junior Rochkhoud Club so that they will have plenty of time to get it on their calendar.

If you enjoy working with children and would like to present or assist one of the prepared sessions or if you have a topic or craft idea of your own that you would like to introduce at a meeting, please contact Terry McMillin (click the button below)
