Soapstone trip that wasn't
Saturday morning was dawned with overcast skies and light showers,
but that couldn't keep MLMS rock hounds home. Sixteen brave souls
arrived in Coulterville ready to dig for whatever. We scrubbed
the soapstone because of bad roads, opted for serpentine and pyrite
crystals. Both sites were close to the highway so access was not
a problem. The rain held off during the digging and collecting,
but started with a vengeance after lunch when everyone was headed
home. Better luck next time on the soapstone..
